"Move
Over Oprah!"
Are
the first words of a review in the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, 2002
Edition for "Pinatta's View- A Trip to the Dentist"
a children's video that received the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold
Seal Award 2002.
"Pinatta's View" stars Pinatta, a quirky talk show host
who takes young children on a trip to the dentist with original music,
puppets and a child's point of view to help them develop a sense of
confidence and familiarity about this often stressful first time experience.
This video is geared for the 2-5 year old who has never been to the
dentist or has forgotten what their last visit was like.
Shooting from the unique 40 inch perspective of a child, "Pinatta's
View" presents new experiences for children, from a seldom seen
perspective- their own. This initial production for Boggle-Goggle
Enterprises is the first in a planned series of videos dealing with
a variety of challenging first time experiences. At a time when
children are dealing with so many frightening things in their lives,
Boggle Goggle believes that hands on practice and dramatic play can
significantly improve a child's ability to cope with stressful, everyday,
first time experiences.
"Pinatta's View" was recently selected by the Meg's Gifts
program to be included in its charitable package to children in hospitals
throughout the United States. The videos selected were chosen for
their ability to address the emotional needs of hospitalized children
and help them deal with fear, anger, guilt and boredom while enhancing
their cognitive and emotional needs. "Pinatta's View- A
Trip to the Dentist" is also endorsed by Kids First and the Dove
Foundation.
